I began painting abstract works 12 years ago, after the birth of my son. At first, it was an attempt to make sense of and capture a reality that I perceived in abstract terms. Today, abstraction is one of the main forms in my artistic practice.
I created the painting “Timelessness” in 2025, after moving to Spain. The process of adjusting to life as an immigrant felt like being lost in time, yet enjoying it at the same time. When creating an abstract painting, I work from an emotional place; I lose track of time and give myself completely to the process. I never know the outcome at the start of the journey, and this fascinates me and brings me joy.
The painting “Timelessness” reminds me of fragments of photographs intertwined with emotions. It leaves room for the viewer’s imagination. I believe the most interesting aspect of abstraction is the opportunity for each person to interpret the work in their own way and form personal impressions and emotions.
