Originally, the mirror carried the words “Be You.”
The phrase was engraved, then intentionally broken into fragments and positioned across the canvas.
What remains is no longer a readable statement, but a reminder.
Identity changes, breaks apart, and rebuilds through life’s experiences. Even when the message is no longer immediately visible, it is still there.
Each artwork contains a hidden handwritten message beneath one mirror fragment. Before sealing it beneath the glass, I photographed that exact moment. The message creates a private connection between the artwork and its future collector, as only the two of us will ever know what it says.
