The green man is a multiple and each Spring he is everywhere at once. In this piece Green Man comes in the form of the female Spring Guides, a mix between Persephone who appears from the underworld to leave Spring in her wake when her footstep are filled with flowers and the Green Man helping nature to be reborn every spring.
The image stems from a series of photos I took of myself wearing a green mask with a green beard and hair. The fresh spring sun filtered through the olive tree above and the fresh blossoming Euphorbia in front of this masked figure were the perfect setting to create this appearance of the personification of Springtime.
