“Risk” emerged from a process of experimentation with color, contrast, and visual balance. While developing the composition, the interaction between intense turquoise tones and the vivid red background became the central focus of the work. The addition of magenta and pink elements initially felt uncertain and almost excessive, introducing a level of tension that seemed risky within the otherwise controlled composition.
Rather than removing these contrasting elements, the painting evolved through embracing that uncertainty. The magenta forms ultimately became essential to the balance and identity of the piece, softening the stronger contrasts while creating a new visual rhythm between the shapes.
“Risk” reflects the idea that growth within a creative process often comes from trusting intuitive decisions and allowing unexpected elements to remain. The work explores how tension, contrast, and uncertainty can ultimately resolve into harmony.
