Last year, I went to Oaxaca to see the Day of the Dead celebration. I traveled to one of the popular cemeteries and there were two very ornate graves, beautifully decorated. The lady told me that one was her husband and the other one was her aunt. On her husband’s grave, she placed mariachi figurines because he always liked mariachi music. The entire grave was beautifully illuminated with dancing candles, marigold petals covered the gray stone and there was mariachi music playing in the cemetery.
