My way of painting is more like recognising than painting a present thing,
more like approaching an object.
You can follow me on this path by looking at my paintings.
When I work with photographic media, very clear image representations, I
change the subject with as little intervention as possible. The original
photograph remains recognisable, creating an interplay between the old and
the new motif, into which we easily fall in and out, moving between casual and
hyperreal.
My works, characterised by sparingly placed traces of colour and isolated
representational elements, not only exude openness and change, but also
serve as a subtle commentary on the interplay of image and likeness in
contemporary culture, questioning the conventions of media images and
lending them a more art-historical significance.
