The concept behind this work was studying the artistic movement of symbolism in the 1880/s paired with the classical composition of work by painters such as Gustave Moreau, Maurice Denis, Arnold Bocklin, to try and re-imagine a strong way in which to present the feeling and emotions of the modern day issues I am noticing in societies across the north hemisphere and its relationship to the southern hemisphere.
With the rise of neoliberalism, I am questioning what we are losing in our desire to progress, scale and growth in capitalism, are we losing touch with the very values, principles and manners that maintain society and is there a ripple effect happening. And what effect does this have on our ecosystem, I am noticing there is a strange battle happening between currently what humanity wants to do, and what the earth and planet are pushing us towards, and our inability to see this some would say is causing us to go blind.
