"Nature is in the divine, and divine architecture will be reborn from Nature." MB.
Divine Nature is an exhibition project that explores the intimate relationship between human architecture and Nature through a scientific and dreamlike lens. A surrealist ODE to human creation, drawing inspiration for decades from the components of Nature to shape its built spaces. From the temple of Karnak to the subterranean works of Emilio Ambasz, architects have always used architecture to express the relationship between humans and nature. The proposed artistic narrative unfolds in an era where architecture is deeply intertwined with Nature, which has absorbed its components.
The series Wild Architecture—2D works displayed along the side aisles—seeks to explore, through the medium of drawing and from a Surrealist perspective, the architecture of Nature imbued with the human touch. The rebirth of the flower and architecture seems to adopt a new stance. These works poetically evoke the evolutionary cycle of vegetal structures shaped by human builders. Their envelope, corolla, calyx, and floral receptacle draw from the resources and treatises of human architecture to continue blooming. Thus, art and architecture come to pollinate the wildflowers that coexist among us.
This collection of botanical illustrations offers viewers a contemplative experience, inviting them to delve into the emotional depths of the soul of architecture and its connection to Nature. Wild Architecture reveals an enduring fascination with representing Nature in art, exploring its harmonious connections. These works subtly highlight Nature's influence on the evolution of architecture while raising awareness of the fragility of Nature, disrupted by the expansion of urban territories. Divine Nature is a journey to transport all generations into a poetic world where art, architecture, and nature intertwine, unveiling the timeless beauty of this constructed trinity.
