Heroides I is the first in the HEROIDES series (continues with Heroides II and III) and represents the beginning of my pictorial research for two years. I chose to bring only the first because it contains all the elements of my manifesto. The title is inspired by the epistolary collection of Ovid, the Heroides, in which the women of classicism tell themselves for the first time. Also in this case it is possible to see how the contemporary fabric is combined with a mythological past, this is because the work that I conduct on the female figure is grafted with different references. Heroides I was born with the reading of these letters to the model and the shooting on canvas of this moment, later worked in the studio. The earthy palette and the strong chiaroscuro contrast, allowed me to represent the subject in a dramatic key giving prominence to the eyes. In addition to gold leaf, I applied pieces of clothes to embellish the myth of the woman Heroine. I choose this one in order to show my intent: focus on face, color, material and brushstrokes.
