In this painting titled Heart Reflection, I was searching for the mirror of the heart, but the heart cannot be stilled. I could only capture its rhythm, with all its nuances: pulses of tension, silence, rupture, and release, flowing endlessly.
This painting is part of the Beyond the Skin Project, which originates from an exploration of the concepts of visibility and invisibility, materiality, and image. Starting from radiographic images—which reveal what lies beneath the surface of the human body—I seek to investigate the deeper layers that constitute our physical existence. By employing the technique of collage, I superimpose various radiological images to create a new visual narrative that reflects the complex relationship between our tangible material being and our image—the way we perceive ourselves. In this process, the boundary between what is visible and what is hidden gradually dissolves, revealing an intricate network of realities that, though imperceptible to the human eye, are essential to our existence. Collage thus becomes a tool for unveiling and reinterpreting these invisible strata, exploring the tension between body and image, between matter and representation. Each composition becomes an inquiry into the human condition—a visual attempt to capture the intangible and bring forth the complexity of our physical and symbolic existence.
