In 2019, I had a friend whose TV finally gave out on them while I was over at their apartment. I sat in front of their broken device for a long time, continually flashing fast-paced colors in its final hour of life. This is my interpretation of the photo I took of it back on that day. A photo of the vibrant bars of color and static that displayed on-screen, over and over, was the literal technical inspiration behind this painting. I've chosen to display this work with an attached LED strip behind it - allowing its saturated colors to be illuminated further, much like an actual screen.
