Annie Miller is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Milwaukee Wisconsin, who enjoys experimenting with various materials and challenging conventional perceptions of artwork through controlled and structured degrees of abstraction. She draws inspiration from surrounding environments, people she connects with, or archives she’s gathered over years of making. She is expected to receive her BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2023, majoring in New Studio Practice with a minor in Digital Media Production. Annie Miller’s studio work revolves around preserving memories and mental technicolor often mobilizing her practice as a time capsule of collected digital media, combined with occasional spontaneous ideas, or structured experiments. She refuses to close herself off from any single mode of production and continually creates to achieve a sense of catharsis. Her work has been exhibited at Between Two Galleries, Meltwater Studios, and the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
