Futuro anteriore II interrogates the perception of time and human-robot interaction. The traffic light motif symbolizes the flow of time, perceived as passive waiting. But waiting for what? This traffic light cannot turn green; waiting is useless. Only the conscious perception of the flow of time allows us to understand the urgency of a situation and act. And will it always be humans who can act? What role will robots have, and how will we live with them?
This work is part of the series Futuro anteriore I-IIII, in which I ironically invert the timeline to depict in four tableaux contemporary critical issues, referring to the archaic aesthetics of cave painting.
