I have always been passionate about Flamenco ,love the energy and movement that the dance exudes .As someone who loves dance in all forms I took classes in Flamenco .
The music and the singing , costume with swishing and the castanet in some performances giving that extra accent to the beat.
In my Flamenco Dancer painting I have mixed textiles and collage into the artwork giving the reality of swishing skirt, hair flying as the head moves with expression . Totally capturing expression , movement and attitude that Flamenco exudes. even without the music there is this total involvement of the artist with the Flamenco dancer and one can feel the excitement of the dance and total absorption of the dancer in the moves .
