My name is Katalin Csardas and I grew up in Australia but born in Hungary .My parents were refugees from 1956 Revolution .All my early schooling and High School was in Australia as was University . I have worked in Australia first as teacher and then in Design , Fashion Accessories in Australia and Overseas Commercially . As well I also worked with NGO organisation in Kenya , Ethiopia , India , Thailand and online with parts of Sth America , Sri Lanka & Phillipines in setting up designs and working with their crafts helping to create micro businesses with the organisation I was employed by in Fair Trade for women to survive and earn a living to bring up their children .
I also attended Sydney University for a Visual Arts degree as a mature age student . Would have been an extra degree after my Bachelor of Education. Unfortunately due to family commitments I was unable to complete my studies .
My art was very important to me from a very early age and when I was able to, I delved into multidisciplinary areas , especially working in developing countries I learnt a lot of different arts crafts and techniques associated with them.I love textiles and sometimes incorporate it into my art works. Colour is always at the forefront of my work in all areas . "I colour my days " is my motto. My work is a mix of Abstract Expressionism , Surrealism. Definitely my own style. I see people and things as I see them and therefore nothing seems as it should be on occasion. I observe carefully politics, history , nature , design and things around me as well as people and love the individuality of humanity and all objects around this infinitely changing world. No matter what Race , Religion or Gender , we are all very Unique and I celebrate it with my Art in many ways . Respect for all is the mantra in a world that is need of a lot of ethical thinking towards all of humanity.
