“Feeling Blue”

I created this piece to look back on the moment I chose to finally put myself out there and go somewhere alone without family or friends present— given that I had grown up sheltered & introverted. I was upset and had opted to just do something completely out of the blue to relieve my stress and anxiety. I did the quickest trip outside my home which happened to be the Nashville Zoo, I was wary but the moment I saw these Macaws relaxing in the shade— It dawned on me that I’m not a shy child who needs her parents around as much. Although I love them very much, I needed that realization that I was a grown adult who has choices in life. Which is why I wanted to commemorate that exact moment.
