While traveling in Jeju, I came across a blue container in a lane near the sea. It was clearly meant to be a temporary structure, yet it blended so naturally into its surroundings that it seemed as though it had always belonged there.
At first, it felt slightly out of place. But the longer I looked, the more I was struck by how naturally the landscape had embraced it.
When we look at a landscape, we rarely think about why the things within it are there. What once seemed unfamiliar gradually becomes part of the scenery, until it feels as though it has always belonged.
This painting captures a moment that quietly made me stop and look again at an ordinary scene.
