This painting is a kind of emotional diary of the artist's pregnancy. Nine women represent different stages of this journey, reflecting the levels of interaction between a woman and herself, her body, and her future child. The use of textiles gives this work a deeply personal significance. The scraps of fabric, threads, and embroidery carefully woven into the body of the piece carry fragments of clothing the artist wore during her pregnancies.
