DIPTYCH PROJECT
This diptych began as a reflection on power and authority, but during the creative process, it evolved into something broader. Rather than addressing the theme directly, the paintings gradually shifted toward the fragile space between the roles we inhabit and the people who exist beneath them.
Presented as a diptych, the works invite the viewer into a dialogue rather than a conclusion. They leave room for uncertainty, allowing meaning to emerge through the act of looking rather than through explanation.
The project is accompanied by the poem Unacknowledged, written by Małgorzata Książyk. Conceived in dialogue with the paintings, the poem stands as an independent piece. Together, image and text share an emotional landscape without attempting to interpret one another.
Unacknowledged
I open my eyes—
and all I see
is blue, vast and endless,
pressing into me,
azure spilling into my skull.
I clutch my cloud—
tight, tighter—
lest I fall.
Below, my grains —
no, I cannot look.
Their tiny cries,
thin as breaking breath,
like coughing ghosts in the dark.
But someone calls my name.
And I look.
Shock—
sudden, burning—
floods my veins,
a fire made of blame.
A face.
Stung with the weight of yesterday,
creased in pain.
I turn—
no grains.
Not one.
Only faces.
Only voices,
sun-scorched and staring.
My name rests
on his lips,
caught—
as if it fears to leave.
Then it hits—
the air is gone,
and breathing
is a distant thing.
Now I see.
Now I know.
A truth buried deep,
quiet and whole:
He is not he.
He is a person—
only one
of them all.
