Atlas can be interpreted as an image of humanity in its relationship to the world: between orientation and disorientation, between individual identity and social responsibility. The partially recognizable figure functions less as a portrait of a person than as a symbol for human existence as a whole. The abstract elements create an open space for interpretation, in which each viewing can generate new »maps« ans associations.
