Shipwrecks are often seen as endings, but to me they mark the beginning of transformation. This painting reflects on what remains after loss: memory, wounds, and the possibility of rebuilding oneself.
The horse, the sea, the passage of time, and the human figures do not illustrate a specific story. They are symbols of different states of existence that interact with one another. I am interested in how vulnerability can become a form of knowledge, and how what breaks apart can reveal new possibilities for growth.
Within my body of work, this painting marks a pivotal moment, where experience ceases to be only suffering and becomes a new way of seeing reality.
