WORK LINE: 'A WOMAN WITH A HAT'
A woman is wearing a moon-shaped hat on her head, and the moon itself is topped by a map of Italy, which is supported by flexible springs.
Desire as an expression of life and love for it, of reaching for what is within your grasp and of doing what makes you happy.
Desire drives a person’s life, provided that desire is directed towards building a future and sowing the seeds of peace.
In this body of work, the paintings may take the form of diptychs, and to this end the background colours are rendered in pairs.
“A WOMAN WITH A HAT – DESIRE – DESIDERIO – DESEO – DÉSIR” is chromatically linked to “A WOMAN WITH A HAT – PEACE – PACE – PAZ – PAIX”.
The directions indicated by the two faces depicted are opposite.
It is a play on simplicity and the essential desires of human beings, combined either separately or in pairs. If the paintings are viewed in pairs, the dimensions would be 100x200cm.
The second photo is a preliminary sketch of the final artwork.
