Luna takes the form of a blood moon in an eclipse. Made from stained Ash, its deep, sultry red body and black handles personify desire. A desire that wanes and waxes like phases of the moon.
Lift it up and the space under the handle opens, light comes through the top like a partial eclipse. Place it down and the full red disc breaks apart into a circle. It never settles into one shape and you move it through its phases as you use it.
The moon has no light of its own, it merely reflects what shines upon it. The red color reflects the viewers desire back upon them. In a recursive way, without desire there is no purpose for the object to exist.
