Constantine Zlatev, is a San Francisco based artist who utilizes disabled armaments and industrial materials & processes to create conceptually-driven sculptures and installations.
At the age of 23, his love for nature and the mountains and his lifelong passion for rock climbing made him relocate to California where he shared in the climbers’ culture and lifestyle of Yosemite Valley in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Shortly after his move to the USA, Constantine founded a company for rock climbing apparel under the brand Chalkprints®. This prompted his decision to study industrial design at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, after which he enjoyed a brief career as a designer in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked on various projects for the Silicon Valley tech world and as a mechanical designer for space craft at a company working on earth observation satellites. Ultimately his passion for art and history, and a strong belief in the importance of pursuing creative freedom and fulfillment, led him to shift his focus entirely to his art career. Due to his design background, his sculptures and kinetic art installations often incorporate the extensive use of industrial manufacturing techniques, materials and technologies. His works have been exhibited internationally and he continues to participate in solo & group shows across Europe & the U.S.
