Axash Siqing Zhang is a contemporary Chinese artist and designer based in Osaka, Japan, with an MA in Fine Art from the University of the Arts London. Their practice engages with comparative mythology and anthropology. Axash has participated in Tate Exchange at Tate Modern, London, and was nominated for Youth Design 100 at Beijing International Design Week. They lead Rú Rì: Your Prophecy, a project selected for the Curators 100 Program of the China Artists Association.
Axash was selected as a finalist for the 21st Arte Laguna Prize, with the work exhibited at the Venice Arsenale. They have received the Gold Prize at the Setouchi International Art & Design Competition, the Outstanding Artwork Award from the New York Contemporary Art Center, and an Excellent Award at the Hubei Youth Art Exhibition, among other distinctions. Their work has been presented in biennials and museum exhibitions in China and internationally, and featured by e-flux, Xuexi Qiangguo and Artron Art Network, etc. A fashion collaboration featuring Axash’s work was presented at Guangdong Fashion Week.
