I am mainly a self-taught aspiring artist. My journey into art began with water colours as I love the subtle & gentle interpretation of life it offers. After an introduction to American artist Robert Sexton’s works, my passion for stippling as an art form grew quickly as it's simple, yet powerful depiction of the world is amazing.
Watercolours & stippling were my companions until I discovered Chinese black ink & watercolour painting and it remains my main preoccupation & medium of expression. During the pandemic I discovered 2 new Japanese art forms – Suibokuga and Gyotaku.
Both forms challenge the artist to master control of water, ink and paper, creating subtle & varied tones of black ink on paper. My journey continues.
