Denis Yashin (1984, Novosibirsk – based in Vienna) explores the intersection of sound and painting. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, he developed an artistic method that transforms acoustic vibrations directly into abstract traces on canvas, which serves as the basis for his projectMaking Sound Visible. Instead of a brush, loudspeakers set the surface in motion, while pigment-soaked foam leaves minimal and geometric forms shaped by sound itself. His practice extends to glass and acrylic glass, often combined with custom frames produced in wood or through 3D printing. Yashin’s works have been presented in exhibitions and performances in Austria and internationally.
