Keane aspires to be a professional artist who works with a variety of mediums to express his concerns for society, addressing some of the issues faced by the common person. Keane also wishes to display his range of artworks through exhibitions across the world, speaking and sharing his work for the public to enjoy. He would like to work with a group of companies and businesses, to challenge himself with problem solving, creatively engaging his audience. Keane’s direction would see him participating in art fairs locally (i.e affordable art fair, Southeast Asia Focus) before going abroad to do his further studies. Keane currently holds a Diploma in Fine Art from the Nanyang Academy of Fine art. He also aims to collaborate with a gallery to earn some extra income for the funding and continuation of his practice. Residency programmes across the world (i.e Fukuoka Asian Art) would assist the artist in working towards his goal, aiding in development of future or currently existing bodies of work.
Keane envisions his goal taking shape over the course of 10-15 years, coupled with continuous reflection on how to improve his practice in order to attain his aims. An avid traveler, he has visited various countries in the Asian and European continent, ranging from Italy and France to Japan and Indonesia just to name a few. The purpose for such travels being to learn and experience different cultures from Singapore where he currently resides. Keane is interested to learn the distinction between Western and Asian societies, and how we can adapt some of the beneficial ideals like liberialism but at the same time inventing and discovering a unique identity, recognisable to the region of Southeast Asia.
