Stephan Janssens lives and works in Waasmunster, in the heart of the Waasland in Belgium.
He received his education at the art academy in Sint-Niklaas.
He is a non-stop creative mind who experiments with light, paint and mechanics in various ways. He always explores new paths through drawings, writings and calculations with a unbridled imagination, to deal with the rules in an inventive and completely free way with scientific laws, art and society.
His interest in light and technology resulted in various designs for lighting fixtures and instrument patents.
As an artistic, poetic inventor and visionary, he has been following a unique course of exploration for several years, studying the universe, movement, light and energy. Always idiosyncratic and with that unmistakable “strange” edge.
Just different, out of step, but unpretentiously proud.
He mainly uses recyclable materials such as aluminum, steel, wood, paper, polyurethane,
EPS as well as energy-efficient LED components.
He shows things that are not fully visible and relies on his imagination to do so. Are
