Pablo Seminario (Piura, Peru, 1948) is an innovative sculptor and ceramic artist. He studied Architecture at Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima and, since the late 1960s, has been self-taught in pre-Columbian ceramic techniques, directing his artistic practice toward the formal and symbolic research of ancient Peruvian cultures.
In 1979 he settled in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, Cusco, where he co-founded the Seminario Cerámicas studio together with his wife, Marilú Behar. His work reinterprets pre-Columbian visual languages through contemporary sculpture with a strong spatial presence, integrating technical rigor, historical research, and a deep reflection on memory, permanence, and territory.
He has exhibited internationally and his work is part of important public and private collections, including the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (Washington, D.C.), the Field Museum of Chicago, and the Museo de Arte Precolombino of Cusco. His recognitions include the JoaquÃn López Antay Medal awarded by the Congress of the Republic of Peru and a UNESCO recognition for his research and preservation of ancestral ceramic techniques.
