Nuttapon Sawasdee earned his BFA in visual arts from Bangkok University in 2013. His early works focus on the sociopolitical and cultural context of Thailand, often playing with signs and symbols that can affect the belief and conscious awareness of the people in society. Later, his work has increasingly shifted towards personal values and beliefs while still engaging with current social issues. He works with diverse media, including film, sound, installation, and performance.
Nuttapon Sawasdee has participated in many group exhibitions, including Absurdity in Paradise (Museum Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany, 2018); Two men look out through the same bars: one sees the mud, and one the stars #2 (WTF Gallery, Bangkok, 2017); TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN (Bangkok CityCity Gallery, Bangkok, 2017); Mutual Unknown Exhibition (National Gallery of Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia, 2017); Shuffling Space, organised by the Japan Foundation (Seascape Gallery, Chiang Mai, 2015); CROSS STITCH (Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Bangkok, 2013); and most recently, the Bangkok Art Biennale 2024.
