His research within the Doctoral Course and in his pratic artistic aimed to think, investigate, interpret and invite a reflection on the different dimensions contained in the artistic, cultural and aesthetic theme of the look in the Visual Arts. At the beginning of the 21st century, there is a reiteration of the interest in the image understood as a figuration of an artistic, cultural, social and aesthetic system that can and should support a Cultural History of the Look. For Mitchell, the history of traditional art would study artists, artistic practices, styles and movements, and institutions, while studies of visual culture would study scientific and technical images, film and television, digital imaging, semiotics of images, psychoanalysis of images, exhibitions and audiences. This understanding justifies a matrix of art history and visual studies in my research. To this list must be added the key element that is interpretation and look, which is the hallmark of the history of art and visual studies today and at the bottom establishes a structural dynamic in the so-called Art Sciences.
