Although I’ve always had a love for figurative art my career began as a fashion designer, then fine artist, mural artist and illustrator.
When I’ve looked at portraiture in the past I have always been intrigued by what was going on around in the background, questioning what the sitter was thinking and feeling or what the artist was wanting to convey.
My art strives to encompass the whole person, body and soul and the correlation between feelings, thoughts, relationships and environment and how they translate to physical expression.
My present work is a culmination of this life experience and intention. As such it questions my thoughts and beliefs around these ideas and uses elements of style and technique from my previous work.
My chosen materials are usually oil or watercolor although I do enjoy pushing the boundaries of materials and style through experimentation with different media and techniques to find a way which best illustrates the feeling of the piece as I intended.
