My name is Juan Pablo Plasencia, I am a Cuban–Spanish visual artist born in 2006. I have been painting since I was a child, without any formal academic training. For me, art has never been a subject I studied, but rather the natural language through which I have expressed myself for as long as I can remember.
At sixteen, I made the conscious decision to dedicate myself fully to painting, transforming what had always been a passion into a professional commitment. Through discipline, persistence, and constant exploration, I began to shape my own artistic universe.
My work revolves around The Purple Woman, a figure I created that embodies power, femininity, mysticism, and transcendence. Over time, she has grown from a simple presence on canvas into the central axis of my practice. Today, even my studio in Havana carries her name: The Purple Woman Studio.
I continue to build this world where the feminine is sacred, mysterious, and transformative. My path has not been defined by academic frameworks, but by an enduring devotion to painting and a profound need to translate the unseen into images.
