I am an artist and independent researcher that live and work in Italy. I got in 2016 a Bachelor's degree in Media and Art at University of Bologna and in 2020 a Master's degree in TV, Cinema and New Media at IULM University in Milan.
My artistic practice looks at the relationship between reality and simulation and the historical and political rhetoric that underlies it. I am interested in the investigation of the videogame as a text and critical tool to illuminate the contradictions inherent in its mechanics and as a way to explore the paradoxes of contemporary media culture. Part of my practice focuses on exploring the figure of the avatar, its functions and purpose in culture and videogames. Two of my areas of work are machinima and game photography, as well as experiments with traditional film and photographic language. In 2018 I co-founded the Milanese collective Eremo, which operates in the intersections between videogame, sound art, performance and contemporary art. I actively collaborate with the writer and researcher Riccardo Retez, with whom several projects will be activated. Since 2020 I collaborate as curator with VRAL, an online curated platform created by Matteo Bittanti and Gemma Fantacci.
