Sharmila Mangwani is an Indian visual artist, designer, and entrepreneur whose sculptural practice explores the intersection of geometry, philosophy, and material innovation. With over three decades of experience spanning graphic design, visual arts, and creative entrepreneurship, she has built a career that seamlessly bridges artistic inquiry with technical precision.
A graduate of Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai, with a Diploma in Commercial Art, Sharmila began her professional journey in design before founding Eazi Art OPC Pvt. Ltd., where she championed high-quality art materials and developed specialized products for Powertex International. Her extensive engagement with the creative community has given her a unique understanding of both artistic practice and material experimentation.
Working under Shaman Ideas, Sharmila creates contemporary sculptural installations rooted in sacred geometry and the transformative possibilities of form. Beginning with intuitive paper explorations, her process evolves through engineering precision into sculptural works crafted primarily from metal and composite materials. Möbius-inspired structures, circular and triangular geometries, and the interplay of light, shadow, and surface become vehicles for exploring continuity, balance, infinity, and spatial perception. Each sculpture is conceived as a singular work, reflecting an unwavering commitment to process and authenticity. Rather than reproducing completed pieces, Sharmila allows every work to remain unique, honoring the discoveries made during its creation.
In 2025, Sharmila presented her work at Design Mumbai, marking an important milestone in her artistic journey and introducing her distinctive sculptural language to an international audience.
