My
name is Anna Beatriz Machado. I’m Brazilian from Rio de Janeiro. Since my
youth, I have always been interested in the arts and expressing myself
artistically through painting, drawing, dancing, and crafts. I studied Product
Design at the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
After graduating, I worked in areas where design and creativity were applied in
a more technical way, such as creating stainless steel furniture for oil
platforms, stands for merchandising, and in the food sector. After several
experiences in specialized areas, I understood that I need to return to my original
call. I created Ateliê Recul to return to work on my artistic expression.
Currently, I design products that aim to bring nature to urban homes. All
products are conceptualized in reflections on human complexity and propose this
reflection through physical objects. The products are made in a 3D printer with
a material called PLA, made from corn starch fermentation, a renewable source.
Socio-environmental responsibility is an essential pillar for me. In this way,
I use design to harmonize technology and nature and express my vision of a
world connected with its natural and sentimental roots.
My
aspiration is that I will be able to take my proposals for reflections even
further, with larger objects and artistic proposals that make the viewer
interact with my objects and with the feeling that I want to convey.
