Rosalind Lowry is an artist from Northern Ireland who works with a range of media to create site specific land art, installations and sculpture. Through numerous solo and collaborative projects she has delivered works internationally and across Ireland. She has completed public commissions for St. Anne's Cathedral, Belfast, The Natural History Museum in London, The Royal Hospital Group, Belfast, local Councils in Northern and internationally for the Alaska State Government, and works and installations in Quebec and North Vietnam. She studied Public Art and Sculpture at Chelsea School of Art and St. Martins School of Art, London & has won several awards including Arts Council of NI Awards and the Carnegie Award for Design & Wellbeing. Rosalind has undertaken many Artist in Residence positions, both at home and abroad, including positions as Artist in Residence on Rathlin Island, Ireland, and in Alaska for the Alaskan State Government in 2019. With a passion for art education she is Chief Examiner for Contemporary Crafts Design in Northern Ireland, a Professional Associate for the Council for Curriculum and Education and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. In 2020 as Artist in Residence for the Lough Neagh Landscape Partnership & Heritage Lottery she will also deliver a series of land art interventions in the peatlands of South West Lough Neagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, in a major development project to raise awareness of the environmental issues and declining wildlife population of Ireland.
