Artist Statement
"My work explores the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary textile structures. I am fascinated by the tactile dialogue between material and form, using my background in tailoring and design to transform raw fibers into objects that challenge our perception of space and surface."
Bio
Viviana Losacco is an Italian textile artist based in Leipzig. Her practice is rooted in a deep understanding of material and construction, developed through a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design at BURG Giebichenstein University of Art and Design, fashion design studies and internships.
After gaining experience within the Berlin fashion scene, Viviana established her freelance studio practice, with Vilos Studio, in 2025. Her work focuses on the bridge between artisanal heritage and modern design, with a particular interest in sustainable concepts.
Her work has been featured in various international contexts, including a solo exhibition at Burg2 Gallery in Halle (Saale) and as a participant in the "Talente - Meister der Zukunft" showcase at the International Craft Fair in Munich. In 2024, she exhibited at SaloneSatellite during the Salone del Mobile Milano and she was recently recognized as an awardee of REVIER PIONIER (2025) in the "Founder" category for her sustainable business concept.
