Lin, Chang-Rong is the chairman of National Taitung University, Department of Art Industry and the Center of Art Industry, hosting the “Integrated Design and Art Studio”. His work explores the relation between world system and spatial information, and the symbolism of consumer world.
In terms of exhibition experience, recent significant exhibitions include the 2017 participation in the Estonian Tallinn Applied Arts Triennial, the 2019 Tararela International Ceramics Biennial in Spain, the 2022 Southern Cross Art Season (1314 Blue), the 2023 La Rambla International Ceramics Competition in Spain (ENBARRO 2023), and the 2023 Matsu International Art Island. The artist has previously received awards such as the "Gold Prize" in the 2023 London Design Awards in the categories of Architecture and Public Art Installations, as well as recognition in events like the Taiwan New Ceramics Exhibition and the Taipei Ceramics Awards.
In terms of industry-academia collaboration and international industrial linkages, the artist has been actively involved in various initiatives. This includes organizing the International Academic Symposium on Lifestyle Aesthetics and Art Industry for six consecutive years, curating the 2023 Taiwan-Guam‧South Island International Art Exhibition, serving as the project leader for the Southern Island International Art Awards in 2018, 2020, and 2022, as well as spearheading the 2019 Taitung Craft Material Regeneration and Annual Curatorial Project. Other contributions include curating the 2017 Taitung Craft-themed Ceramic Exhibition, the "106th Anniversary Taitung Art Museum 10th Anniversary Creative Merchandise" project, curating and fostering artists in residence for the "Condensation and Ripples" Indigenous Cultural and Creative Village in Taitung County, and serving as the project leader for the Ministry of Culture's community and village culture development project, "Revival of the Paiwan Ancient Glass Beads - Traditional Culture and New Generation Reconstruction."
