Nelly Lim was born in Paris, France, in 1980, where she spent her early childhood and received her initial education. In 1990, she immigrated to Quebec and settled in Longueuil, completing her elementary and secondary studies in the neighboring municipalities of Brossard and Greenfield Park.
In 1999, she pursued a Fine Arts degree at Dawson College, where her passion for art deepened. This led her to Concordia University, where she earned a BFA in Studio Arts. In 2009, she took a bold step by moving to Xiamen, China. The dynamic and rapidly evolving environment there profoundly influenced her artistic practice.
Nelly Lim has been exhibiting her work since 2004. In 2014, she signed with the International Gallery Mensi & Rioux and began permanently showcasing her works at MX Gallery until its closure in 2024. Since then, her works have been exhibited at the Golden Crab Gallery.
