Boting Liang is an emerging abstract artist whose work explores the intersection of color and line as a means of emotional expression. Formerly trained and practicing as a lawyer for nearly three years, Boting began her artistic journey during her time studying in France, where she was inspired to realign her life with her true passion—art.
Deeply influenced by Mark Rothko’s meditative use of color fields, as well as the raw, gestural intensity found in the works of Joan Mitchell and Willem de Kooning, Boting has developed a style that balances emotional depth with visual spontaneity. Her paintings often fuse rich blocks of color with expressive lines, forming a dialogue between stillness and movement, silence and inner turbulence.
As a newcomer to the professional art world, Boting sees competitions and exhibitions as opportunities to connect with a broader creative community, engage with the contemporary art market, and expand her own artistic language. Through this transformation from law to art, she embraces vulnerability, exploration, and the limitless potential of visual storytelling.
