After studying painting in Korea, I studied at the Munich Academy in Germany for four years. I am currently based in Seoul and Singapore. I reinterpret traditional Korean materials like mother-of-pearl and lacquer through contemporary visual language, continuing work that visualizes memory, identity, and the passage of time. Through contemporary art and installation work, I experienced environmental reflection on materials discarded after exhibitions, which led me to focus on traditional techniques using sustainable natural materials. Recently, through my ‘Rain Series’ and ‘Carpet Series,’ I explore the sense of slowness, quietness, and identity standing at boundaries. I am expanding my work from flat paintings to installation and video media. I have participated in group exhibitions in Korea and Germany, and held two-person exhibitions in Italy and Seoul in 2025. Major exhibitions include “N Years of Lacquering” (Gyeongin Museum of Fine Arts, 2022), “Persian Flaw” (Artandnature gallery, 2023), and Galeria Kobeia group exhibition (Munich, 2023). An exhibition is scheduled at EWC Hawaii in 2026.
