Flóra Kőszeghy's paintings depict moments that cross the border of real and surreal. The diffuse and intertwined relationship between the rational and irrational also characterizes the temporality of images: it simultaneously creates an ancient and futuristic atmosphere where the scales of bodies refer to some vast, majestic entities. These unrecognizable forms simultaneously carry attributes of a sacral and mechanical nature, as if they were ambivalent ambassadors of a future past. The scale and composition of the images also engage the space outside the image in the realm of perception, thereby forcing the viewer to release all his previous epistemological knowledge and surrender to a state in which man is no longer above all else. The images activate a deeper understanding int the viewer, and this planar, spatial, and temporal experience defines the essence of Kőszeghy's painting. Kőszeghy participates in group exhibitions and has solo shows since 2016.
