investigates a sense of place; physical space, human and non-human
ecologies, geological time and socioeconomic histories. After a
BA(Hons) 3D Design (1992) she worked as a glassblower, art
fabricator, set-builder, prop-maker and landscape architect
(Landscape Institute Award, 2004) in Germany, London, Cornwall and
Manchester while winning commissions to create art in the public
realm, socially-engaged and participatory works. Her public realm
sculptures are found in London, Cornwall, Leeds and Lytham.
Her
MA in Fine Art at Manchester School of Art (2019) allowed her to
explore and
expand the theoretical contexts for her work, such as New
Materialism, Vibrant Matter and Dark Ecology.
Her practice has grown to include sculpture, installation, film,
animation and sound. She won a Liverpool Biennial Bursary (2021) to
expand her filmmaking skills. She has since exhibited at HOME, Mcr;
Groundwork Gallery, King’s Lynn; Turnpike Gallery, Leigh and
Whitaker Museum, Rossendale. Residencies include Groundwork Gallery;
iPark Foundation, Connecticut and Moors for the Future, Saddleworth.
She curated the Spark Artist’s Network show of 30 environmental
artists. She works with Para-lab Collective (scientists and artists),
and Moss Worlds (academic research project). She has been
commissioned to make an interactive, durational installation and film
for the Kommagene Bienale in Turkiye. She
is currently developing a major show at The Lowry in Salford as part
of artist duo The Guardians of Living Matter.
