In my work, I use exuberant colors and densely detailed depictions to give rise to ever-expanding forms. The foods I paint appear fresh and beautiful, yet they are destined to be consumed and transformed into flesh—or left uneaten to decay.
Through these images, the entanglement of food and the body, of life and death, of birth and decomposition becomes a visual expression of the cycle of life.
What emerges are collective bodies in which the dissolution of the individual coincides with the appearance of diverse forms of life. Rather than placing the human at the center of life, I seek to find beauty in what is transient and ever-changing. My work is rooted in a post-anthropocentric perspective.
To “see” my paintings is not merely a visual act. It is also to touch, to smell, and to taste. From within the medium of painting, I gently subvert the primacy of sight, inviting viewers into a multisensory experience that transcends vision and engages the entire body.
