Coin cutting is a rare art form, requiring minimal tools, yet producing world-class works of art. I became interested in the form when I was a teenager after having witnessed a homeless man practicing the craft in 1993. The man refused to teach me, at which point I bought all of my own tools and immediately began the laborious process of self-learning. It was a slow moving process, but after about fifteen years, I could not find work in this field better than my own. I have been doing this as my primary source of income for the entirety of my adult life, and believe I have taken the potential of the jewelers saw to its limits, so far as coin cutting is concerned.
All of my work is created strictly with rudimentary, non-electric hand tools.
