Ivana Orviska is a Slovak-born contemporary painter whose textured oil landscapes explore the fragile beauty of nature and the emotional resonance of place. Growing up during the socialist era, she found creative refuge in wild meadows and in the quiet discipline of painting.
A treasured box of Gioconda pastels from her father sparked a lifelong devotion to art.Influenced by the French Impressionists and shaped through self-study, workshops, and mentorship, she gradually developed her distinctive approach to oil painting. Her sold-out debut exhibition in Bratislava in 2012 marked the beginning of her full-time artistic journey.
Ivana has exhibited across Europe, including Vienna, London, Prague, and Bratislava.
She continues to paint intuitively, allowing each piece to emerge from spontaneous emotion and inner reflection.

ARTIST STATEMENT
IVANA ORVISKA is a Slovak-born painter whose work is rooted in the emotional resonance of place. Working intuitively and spontaneously, she translates the fleeting quality of light into layered oil landscapes that hover between memory and presence. Each canvas begins as a direct encounter with nature — a riverbank, a forest edge, a still body of water — and evolves through instinct rather than plan.
Her paintings do not seek to document the visible world, but to capture what a place feels like at a precise, unrepeatable moment. Through expressive brushwork and atmospheric depth, IVANA ORVISKA invites the viewer into a space of quiet contemplation — a pause in which beauty, fragility, and stillness coexist.
