Alda Marina Iacoianni was born in Focsani in Romania on 10 November 1986.
Her mother, an artist, moved to Italy when Alda was still very young and she grew up surrounded by an environment full of creativity and artistic energy. Her artistic career began in 2001, the year in which he enrolled in the Istituto D'Arte of Lucca with a specialization in ceramics.
Here, in addition to an in-depth study of the history of art, she acquires the techniques of artistic craftsmanship, experiences that will be useful in her studies on the treatment of matter. These important years formed her very heterogeneous technical background allowing her to master different techniques and above all different materials (plaster, clay, marble, resins and plastics) that characterize her production. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence choosing the Sculpture address. In the cradle of the Renaissance she cultivates her love for classical sculpture, and although she is a contemporary artist she does not disdain quotations and parallels with it.
She graduated in 2010 and took part in his first collective exhibition.
While her cultural background increases between Florence, and Pietrasanta, a city of art rich in artistic studies and workshops, that he refines her technique and her artistic sensitivity in the field. She collaborates assiduously with artists who work between Pietrasanta and Carrara; in 2010 she is accredited as the official photographer of Vanessa Beectoft's performance in the Nicoli Studio in Carrara and of Cai Guo-quiang's performance at the Carrara Biennale. In 2011 she is still the official photographer of the performance of “Transitional Site” by Jean Paul Philippe.
This is how her artistic expression develops in various fields ranging from sculpture to photography.
In 2011 she moved to New York because she wants to live a direct experience outside the Europe that she loves so much and to be able to better understand the extra-continental artistic characteristics by experimenting and studying throughout the period.
This is due to an innate curiosity that pushes her to investigate reality in its every reflection. This continuous research activity is the useful fuel for the creative process which, through a stream of consciousness, is transformed into an artistic gesture. The first consequence of this modus operandi are the almost ten years of study trips that take her around Europe and the world, where she will visit the exhibitions of the great artists of the past but above all of contemporary artists. In these years of study and research, a sensitivity has been refined, but above all an awareness that leads to the production of the works that since 2016 have participated in the TU35 Collective at the Center of Contemporary Art in Prato and in the International Sculpture Exhibition organized by Studio Stagetti.
The reflections arising from this period of study will serve to find the message and conceive its means of communication.
Between 2019 and 2020 was therefore the years of consecration, the years in which she participated in the "Leonardo and the Journey" Contest organized by Aeroporti di Roma, winning the first prize in the "Young" category. The work "Tempo", created for the occasion, will remain forever in the new wing of international airports, visited by an annual flow of 8 million passengers., Becoming the focus of the exhibition (exhibition in high-quality and highly qualified contemporary spaces international prominence).
