Julian Graeve is a German jewellery designer and craftsman who explores contemporary adorning practices.
As a Master of Arts in Jewellery, he is based and working in Germany's historic town for jewellery production – Pforzheim
He originally began his studies in Industrial Design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. A period of study abroad at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, Israel, brought him into contact with traditional craftsmanship and jewellery. For his Bachelor’s degree in Schwäbisch Gmünd, he devoted his final project to the subject of jewellery and its haptic perception. After working in Prague, the Czech Republic, in the field of glass and object design, he continued his studies at Pforzheim University in the ‘Master of Arts in Jewellery’ programme. Since then, he has been actively involved in the local and international contemporary jewellery and art scene. He is keen to share his passion for jewellery by helping to organise exhibitions and teaching as a guest lecturer. His works have been and continue to be exhibited in local and international galleries and museums, including the Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim, the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt and the Arte Laguna Prize, as well as the Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice.
